The 3rd Sino-Nordic Cup Football Tournament took place at the Beijing Foreign Studies University on September 23, during which China's Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Chao, the Norwegian Ambassador to China Geir Otto Pedersen, the Finnish Ambassador to China Jarno Syrjälä, the Icelandic Ambassador to China Stefán Skjaldarson, the Minister of the Danish Embassy Helle Meinertz, the Minister Counselor of the Swedish Embassy Karl-Olof Andersson and the guests from both home and abroad attended the event.

The 1st Sino-Nordic Cup Football Tournament took place at the Olympic Sports Center on September 20 to commemorate the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Sweden, Denmark and Finland. Staff members and representatives of the Danish, Swedish and Finnish embassies in Beijing and the Department of European Affairs of China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), the Global Times and the Chinese Football Association formed six teams for a competition that lasted for half a day. Over 400 people came to watch the games.
