China becomes BWM's third largest market

China has become BMW Automobile's third largest market in the world, selling 183,300 vehicles in 2010, up 85.3 percent, the Beijing Morning Post reported on Tuesday.

The company's first and second largest markets, Germany and US, also saw catapulted sales, 267,716 and 266,500 units respectively.

BMW set a record in revenue, up 19.3 percent to 60 billion euros and its net profits reached 3,234 billion euros in 2010.

The sales volume of the company hit 1.46 million units, up 13.6 percent year-on-year. The BMW series sold 1.224 million units, up 14.6 percent, followed by Mini, another BMW group-owned concept..
