Foton plans to sell 1.8 million vehicles during 12th Five Year Plan

Beiqi Foton Motor Co., Ltd. is on covenant to realize a sales volume of 1.8 million units during its next Five Year Plan (2010-2015), among which new energy vehicle will account for 15 percent, the Nanfang Daily reported Friday.

The company received an order for 111 units of hybrid vehicles from Taiwan in the beginning of the month, a good ignition for the plan.

In addition, on March 1, 2011, some 50 units of Midi, Foton's first batch of pure electric vehicles will start operation as taxies in Beijing.
