China's Southeast (Fujian) Motors announced it starts Friday to recall some of its V3, Lancer, and Lancer EX models in China without charges.

The Mitsubishi's partner in China has submitted a recall request to the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of China (AQSIQ). The recall will involve about 20,246 units of the V3s, 1,568 Lancers, and 5,033 Lancer EXs produced between March 17 and July 27 this year, according to Southeast Motors.

The decision for recall is due to a defect in the welding of a component on the front lower part of the cars' chassis, which could crack during driving.

Li Ling, a staff from Southeast Motors told the China Business News that they have not received any complaints concerning this problem and that there has been no reported injuries to passengers.

The company found the problem during a routine monitoring and said only about three hours are needed for the repairing.

Southeast Motors told the Global Times that owners of the models published should dial hot-line 800-858-1666 and provide the engine number to see if the model will be needed for recall.
