BYD to bid on land for factory in Xi'an

Industrial land made up of 524 acres will be used as BYD production base, according to the National Business Daily.

An employee of Huxian land transaction center of Xi'an, Shaanxi revealed that BYD is the only bidder in the auction of a land square numbered HX19-3-1.

BYD will get the land at a price of 80,000 yuan ($12,189) per acre, lower than the expected quotation of 180,000 yuan ($27,426) per acre.

The carmaker has already published recruitment advertisement on a local site for the to-be-built factory.
