Great Wall Motor Co. said the company sold 170,000 vehicles in the first half of 2010, up 86.7 percent year-on-year, greatly exceeding the average increase level.
According to the reports of China Association of Automobile Manufacturers on manufacturing and sales, the increase of domestic car sales in the first half of the year remains steady despite a slide slip in May and June.
In the SUV field, the sales of Great Wall Hover reached 72,000 units, increasing by 158.9 percent, occupying 12 percent of the market in China. The company remains the top 1 seller in the domestic market.
In respect of A-class cars, Great Wall enjoyed an last mover advantage, the Voleex series realized sales of 51,000 units in the first half of the year, increasing by almost 60 percent. The newly introduced Voleex C30 became a new growth point.
In the pickup truck field, the total sales of the whole industry in the first 6 months summed up to 179,000 units. Great Wall Wingle sold 49,000 units, up 54 percent, occupying 27.1 percent of the market. It also championed its laurel for the twelfth time.
