Great Wall's new factory to start operation in March

Great Wall Motors revealed at the 2011 National Dealers Annual Meeting that the first stage of its new factory is soon to reach completion and will officially go into operation in Tianjin still this month.
The factory will produce Great Wall's new models, including Hover H6 -which is scheduled to be launched in April- and Tengyi C50.
Meanwhile, the factory's second stage is currently under construction. Covering 42,920 square meters, it will be meant for a production capacity of 250,000 sedans per year as well as sport utility vehicles (SUVs).
The company will invest 4.2 billion yuan ($ 639 million) in 2013 to carry on with the third stage of the factory, which will produce B-class vehicles and high-end SUVs.
It is estimated that the final stage will be finished in 2015 when the factory's capacity will reach 800,000 units, and account for 40 percent of the total. It will also roll out three high-end SUVs and five new sedans, carrying an estimated output value of over 100 billion yuan ($ 15.2 billion).
Great Wall sold 397,300 vehicles in 2010, up 77 percent, becoming the fastest developing automaker in China. The company plans to manufacture 2 million and sell 1.8 million vehicles by the end of 2015 and aims to become the number one automaker of A-class sedans, SUVs and pickups in the near future.
