Passenger car sales slow

Automakers sold 1.15 million passenger vehicles in January in the country, down 9 percent month-on-month, according to the China Passenger Car Association Monday.

The agency said in an e-mail to the Global Times that the January wholesale figure significantly exceeded the retail figure, signalling that stockpiling was occurring in the market, which could drag sales down further.
