Volkswagen: Skoda sales in China reach 100,000 units

Volkswagen AG has sold over 100,000 Skoda units in the Chinese market so far this year, according to the website China knowledge.

Due to the rapidly growing market boosting the auto industry, sales of Skoda increased 93 percent from a year earlier to 95,677 units. Volkswagen said in a statement that 2008 sales were 59,284 units.

Skoda launched its new mid-to-high-end model, the Skoda Superb this August, to boost its Chinese market sales.
