Sales of BYD up 90% in the first four months of 2010

BYD's sales stood at more than 200,000 units in the first four months of 2010, up 90 percent from the same period last year.

With four new models, L3, M6, S6 and i6 to enter the market, each pricing at over 100,000 yuan ($14,645.41), the company is expecting a promising market for middle and high class models, and SUV and is confident it will realize the sales goal of 800,000 units this year.

Wang Jianjun, assistant manager of sales department of BYD, revealed that besides expanding the market coverage of economic vehicles, BYD will focus on brand-building in 2010. With four websites to promote over five models each, the giant will improve its marketing and corporation operation for good performance and common development.

At the 2010 International Beijing Automobile Exhibition, BYD showed three first-launch models targeted at middle and high-end markets.
