Four foreigners living in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, will have their first chance to test drive domestic cars this Sunday, August 30. This is also the first test driving team made up of foreigners living in China.
The test driving team invited four foreigners full of driving experences in their homelands but never drove in China, to have a spin in the Dongfeng Fengshen S30 sedan, along with six other Chinese test drivers.
"This activity can promote our Chinese auto brands after more and more foreigners take part in the Global Times test driving team," said Shi Ding, the Executive Editor-in-Chief of Global Times website. "Foreigners can give some good suggestions in their experience and according to foreign standards to test Fengshen S30 and help those in the Chinese auto industry improve to a global stage."
The Global Times organizes this test driving team for foreigners living in China, and its website, globaltimes.cn and autos.globaltimes.cn which mainly reports on Chinese automakers and Chinese vehicles, will provide more opportunities for foreigners to have their first drive in China, since a lot of people from abroad can't drive here with their foreign driving licenses.
The Fengshen S30, produced by one of the biggest automakers in China, Dongfeng Motor, targets the A-class car market with an engine displacement of 1.6 liters and sells for around 75,800 yuan.
