SAIC sold over 1.2m vehicles in H1

Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp (SAIC) sold 1,225,568 units in the first half of 2009, up 29.3 percent from a year earlier, ranking No.1 among Chinese automakers, according to Xinhua.
From January to June, SAIC sold 675,127 units of passenger vehicles, a 22.4 percent increase year-on-year. Its commercial vehicles sales increased 38.9 percent from a year earlier to 550,441 units.
SAIC's statistics show that its joint venture Shanghai Volkswagen sold 314,011 units in the first half, up 15.4 percent from a year earlier, leading China's passenger vehicle sales in the period.
