Rolls-Royce said it has signed two contracts with PetroChina worth a combined $120 million to install power systems for China's West-East Gas Pipeline project.
Rolls-Royce said the contracts include three RB211-powered gas compressor packages and a motor-driven compressor that will be installed during the WEP project's first phase.
Another six RB211 compressor packages will be installed in the second phase.
The first phase of PetroChina's WEP project began operations in 2004 with an annual natural gas distribution capacity of 17 billion cubic meters. The second phase, which began construction in February 2008, will have an annual distribution capacity of 30 billion cubic meters.
