China exports large quantity of commercial vehicles

In the first half of 2009, commercial vehicles made up 66.42 percent of China's auto exports sales, an increase of 5.82 percent year-on-year. However, the export volume, which is worth 345 million yuan, continued to drop by 58.2 percent.
China exported 106,700 units of vehicles, a drop of 49.33 percent compared with last year. In the first half of this year, the number of the exported trucks, dump trucks, and tractors reached 13,800 units, 1,598 units and 4,727 units respectively.
Sales of cement-mixing trucks reached 3,875 units, a drop of 42.34 percent year-on-year. Concrete mixers performed well with 827 units sold, and the number of specialized vehicles was 1,708.
Of the countries China exports vehicles to, Algeria ranked first in the quantity and volume of trade in the first six months, followed by South Africa and the Middle East.
Sales of commercial vehicles in June were 20,100 units, a drop of 40.92 percent compared with 2008 and of 4.56 percent compared with May.
There are estimates China will export more than 126,000 units of commercial vehicles in the second half of 2009.
