Source: SAIC in talks with BMW on production in China

SAIC Motor Corp. is in talks with BMW about making the German automaker's 7 Series model in China, according to Oriental Morning Post, citing an unnamed person working for SAIC.

SAIC has denied the news, and a public relations person from BMW China didn't confirm the talks either.

The Chinese automaker had been in talks with BMW three times previously in the past four years, Oriental Morning Post said.

Analysts said if the 7 Series models were to be produced in China, BMW will continue to be the leader among luxury auto brands.
