Hover M2 to enter market Mar. 18 in Beijing

Great Wall Motor plans to launch its first new model for 2010, the Hover M2 SUV, in Beijing on March 18, according to the Chinese automaker.
So far, the new SUV has been delivered to all of Great Wall's domestic dealers. Customers can preorder the vehicle now.

The Hover M2 features a 1.5-liter VVT engine and a CVT gearbox, with a maximum 77kw power and 138Nm torque. The dimensions of the SUV are 4,011 x 1,740 x 1,684mm with a 2,499mm wheelbase.
Sun Dezheng, with Great Wall Motor's marketing department, said the Hover M2 will offer customers the five-speed manual transmission and CVT (continuously variable transmission). Clients can also choose between two-wheel or all-wheel drive.

The expected price for the SUV ranges from 80,000 yuan to 90,000 yuan ($11,718-$13,183).
Great Wall Motor's Hover SUV has retained its No. 1 position for the third month since December 2009 in terms of sales volume for the SUV market in China. From December 2009 to February 2010, 32,364 units of Hover series were sold.
