Eaton to build new engine valve plant in Shandong

Eaton Corporation has announced that it will expand its vehicle operations in China by investing to build a new engine valve production facility in Ji'ning city, Shandong Province.
Eaton will start construction of the 10,000-square meter plant in July 2010. The new facility will assemble engine valves and valve actuation components for automotive customers in the Chinese market.
Eaton has a long history of investment in Ji'ning, China. Its first manufacturer in China is the hydraulic plant located in the eastern Chinese city, mainly producing the steering control equipments and hydraulic cycloid motors. Through the forms of mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and wholly-owned subsidiary, Eaton, has developed its business rapidly in China and now has 27 factories and nearly 10,000 employees currently, as the largest production base for hydraulic products.
The Chinese production base for automobile components of Eaton Vehicle Group is the Eaton Engine Components (Shanghai) Co, which provides assembly for the Shanghai Volkswagen, Shanghai GM, FAW Volkswagen, Guangzhou Dongfeng Honda, and Chang'an Suzuki.
