Dongfeng Motor corporation released on its website on July 9 that its accumulated car sales in the first half of the year have reached 175,000 units, increasing 49.32 percent. Turnovers have reached 17.85 billion yuan ($2.63 billion), increasing by 81.67 percent.
From January to June, Dongfeng Citroen had sold more than 106,700 units, up 62.37 percent. Citroen C-4 alone sold 48,334 units, with monthly sales over 8,100 units. Citroen C-Elysee sold 34,682, monthly sales at 5.000 units and C-5 18,637 units.
In the first half of the year, Dongfeng Peugeot sold 68,400 in total, an increase of 32.69 percent. The 307 series sold 33,736, 5,600 monthly. The 207 series sold 17,628, with 3,000 monthly.
According to the press release, car prices of Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile Company Ltd. increased 19.36 percent in 2009, and the gross profit ratio has greatly improved.
Other data indicates that PSA Peugeot Citroen sold 1.86 million vehicles in the first half of 2010, increasing by 16.9 percent. It''s shares in the European market have risen to 14.6 percent, and sales outside the European market occupies 36 percent of the total .
The group is predicting that the sales volume for the European market will shrink by 9 percent this year, while the Chinese market will maintain a double-digit increase. The group has already reached a consensus with Dongfeng Motor Corporation to co-found the third factory of Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen to lead in more new vehicle types, and Wuhan is preferred as the factory site.
