PSA Peugeot Citroen is set to launch 14 new models globally before 2012, mainly targeting at the Chinese market. The company will introduce one model to China each year, and put its plug-in hybrid vehicles into production at the Dongfeng-PSA venture before 2015, Philip Ambato, minister for international department of Peugeot, said last week.
PSA will put 14 models on the global market during the period 2010-2012, of which at least one model will be put on sale in China's auto market every year including the imported models, such as the Peugeot 3008 and RCZ, Philip Ambato said.
At present, Peugeot already has the hybrid vehicles, electric vehicles and the models that are equipped with the idle start-stop system, next the French carmaker will produce some new energy vehicles in Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile (DPCA) between 2013 and 2015 and the first model to be manufactured would be a plug-in hybrid vehicle.
Peugeot sold more than 70,000 vehicles in China in the first half of this year, up 37 percent from a year earlier, Philip Ambato added.
