Peugeot 3008 Hybrid4 coming to China in Dec

French automaker PSA Peugeot Citroen SA will launch its first diesel-electric hybrid: Peugeot 3008 Hybrid4, at the Guangzhou Auto Show starting December 21, 2010, Media reported Wednesday.

The Peugeot 3008 Hybrid4 will come with a 2.0L four-cylinder turbo diesel engine rated at 163 horsepower and an electric motor rated at 37 hp. Its combined fuel consumption is merely 3.2L per 100 kilometers while CO2 emissions are rated at 99g/km.

Peugeot says the 3008 Hybrid4 is capable of a total combined output of 150kW and a combined maximum torque of 500Nm: 300Nm at the front wheels and 200Nm at the rear.

In addition, the Peugeot 3008 Hybrid4 is equipped with a stop-start system made by the carmaker itself, coupled with a computer-controlled sequential manual transmission. The car's price has not yet been disclosed.

The 3008 Hybrid4, a crossover model based on the 308 hatchback, is expected to be put on sale in Paris in spring 2011, according to sources.
