Luxury cars dazzle at Chengdu Auto Show

Geely launched its EC7 CVT medium grade car with a 1.8L engine, automatic gear, and other high-end devices, thronging into the market zone of RMB 100 thousand-worth vehicles which used to be difficult for this national brand. Huatai is focusing on the R&D of diesel engine which the company is skilled in, and brought Santa Fe C9 2.0 T medium grade diesel car in this Exhibition, meanwhile, it also launched the gasoline car with the same displacement for the first time. Thanks to the advanced engine technology that Huaitai has held, this type is with high cost performance while being forceful and energy-saving.

The steadily developing medium and high-end carmakers are not smug about the continuing prosperity. They are promoting more new products which are more satisfactory to Chinese consumers with their advantage of technology. Skoda of Shanghai Volkswagen demonstrated in Chengdu Exhibition its first high-performance capital roadster RS, whose exterior design, configuration and quality are reaching very high level while the price doesn't rise. This shows that the advantages of the medium and high-end carmakers in technologies, brands and prices are very difficult to surpass for others.

National brands defend by "streamlining"

The southwest market has always been the "base area" of national brands, and Chengdu is the key market for the economy cars of several national brands. However, with the gradual perfection of the western China auto market, consumers in western China are demanding more and more high quality cars. The competitive pressure upon the national brands also comes from international brands that are invading western China market. Nevertheless, the national brands that are taking efforts in upgrading their products won't be outdone when facing these pressures, and they are defending their market by introducing "masterpieces". This can be clearly seen in this Chengdu Exhibition.
