Hebei Province topped the list of auto exports in China in the first three quarters of the year, exporting 46,435 vehicles, up 32.49 percent from a year earlier, and an export value totaling 367 million yuan ($55.3 million), up 31.8 percent, according to the statistics released by the Hebei Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau.

The province developed two more models for export this year, among which van tops the list from January to July with 18,000 vehicles, up 12.8 percent; and takes 61.1 percent of the total export volume.

Passenger cars and sedans followed with exports at 6,476 and 4,670 vehicles respectively, with an average tag of $6,447 and $11,000.

Benefited from China's automobile subsidy policy for new energy vehicles, and also the mitigation of the world economic crisis, the auto industry sees an overall advancement in Hebei this year.

Although the export volume in Asia and Africa markets – the primary importing regions for Hebei – has slumped, it still managed to earn by expanding its market in Latin America and Oceania, where from January to July the province exported 6,990 units (Latin America) and 4,930 units (Oceania) respectively.

In addition, investments by foreign enterprises, which were vital to the production of over 28,000 vehicles, also helped boost auto exports in Hebei.

Great Wall Motor Company Ltd., a major auto exporter in Hebei Province, exported 37,847 vehicles from January to October, up 43 percent from last year with the export value totaling 316 million yuan ($47.6 million), up 50 percent.

An employee with Baoding Automobile Bureau said that Great Wall is a principal base of commercial vehicles' exports, which has been investigating the demand in the overseas markets, thereby leading the auto industry to develop in Hebei Province.

According to data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, China exported 404,700 vehicles in the first three quarters, up 62.54 percent from last year, a total value of 4,94 billion ($743 million), up 35.8 percent.
