BAW aiming to grow into top-class global automaker

BAW enhanced the capital operating capacity and investment benefit by smoothing the management systems of the second- and third-level companies. Meanwhile, the successful establishment of five major platforms of complete-car manufacturing, R&D, parts and accessories, service and trade, and reform adjustment laid a solid foundation for the future development.
On the future development, Xu Heyi emphasized on the main thought and measures of BAW's "Twelfth Five-year Plan":
Construction of a "powerful BAW". The BAW will promote its overall core competitiveness through R&D,
manufacturing, brand and other strategic links, and develop into a nation-top large-scale automobile enterprise group with independent innovative capacity, independent core technology, independent brand having international influence, sustainable developing potential and powerful competitiveness. It will actively look for proper automobile enterprises with co-operation potential at home and abroad to carry out merging and acquisition strategy, boost the extensive increase of the group, and form a nationwide production layout. The key step of building a powerful BAW is the development of independent brand. By 2015, BAW will be the symbol of middle and high-end passenger car enterprises in China's independent brands. As to business cars, BAW will still strive to development the Foton brand to make Foton a key brand for BAW to enter the international market. Meanwhile, BAW will continue strengthening the development of joint-venture brands, making Beijing Benz a symbol of international luxury brands, and Beijing Hyundai a symbol of popular car brands.
Creation of a "large BAW". BAW will strive to meet the productivity demands of the top team in domestic automobile industry in terms of output scale, and the methods include increasing investment to construct new productivity, conducting merging and acquisition to expand productivity, building overseas factories to increase productivity, seeking enterprise alliance to add usable productivity, etc. As to product scale, BAW will continue the development of the automobile group with a complete product line, quicken the development of mini-cars to fill the former blank in this field. In terms of the development of passenger cars and business cars, BAW will specially strengthen the overseas development strategy of BAW Foton business cars, thus develop BAW Foton into a world-top business car enterprise. In terms of passenger cars, BAW will keep its sales scale with the joint-venture product of Beijing Hyundai, keep the world-top brand value of Beijing Benz, and energetically develop independent brand cars and new-energy cars.
Construction of a "world BAW". BAW will stick to the international road, diligently develop BAW brand into a world-class brand with international influence, in order to lay a good foundation for the future globalized layout.
Development of a "harmonious BAW". BAW will encourage the whole staff with the BAW spirit and culture of "work hard, cooperate, advance despite difficulties, and be determined to success" to strengthen its cohesion and create an active, lively, open-hearted and harmonious working and life atmosphere for its healthy development. The leaders must care for the work and life of the staff, allow every employee to enjoy the fruit of BAW's rapid development, and enhance their zeal to work.
