HAVAL SUV improves Best Score on new racing stage

Because of cancelling the second special racing stage, after days' break, the 7th racing stage was much easier than before. However, there were also so many stories during this racing stage. In the car team which was mostly concerned, the cars of VW were in the top 3.
The legend race car driver, Peterhansel, who was in the BMW team and the only person able to challenge VW team, ranked in the 4thand obviously he could not become the champion. Zhouyong, HAVAL SUV Team who was from China, got the fifteen rank in this racing stage, and in the total rank, he got the nineteenth. The score Zhouyong got is the best score among Chinese race car drivers in Dakar racing.
Among Chinese race car drivers, they all had a common day. Zhouyong who comes from HAVAL SUV Team improved for another time his best record among his own racing stages. After ranking in the 20th in the 5th racing stage and the 17th in the 6th racing stage, on the 7th racing stage, he achieved the 15th. Also, the 15th rank he got was the best among Chinese race car drivers.
According to the total scores of every driver, his score has risen to number 19. The race car fans are familiar with the number Zhouyong got-19- which is the best score Chinese race car drivers has gotten. In 2005, it was the first time for Zhouyong to create the best record in Dakar Rally. The following year, Xulang, Chinese race car driver, got the same score. From then, there is no longer a Chinese driver who can get the score. But, the person who created the record is on the edge of bettering his own record.
Not only Chinese car fans, but Dakar Organization Committee and FIA began to pay a particular attention to Zhouyong’score. On January 9, in the afternoon, Yannik, the chairman who is in charge of Dakar Rally and FIA came to Great Wall Team and visited Zhouyong.
Yannik encouraged Zhouyong to keep the same pace as before. Meanwhile, Yannik began to especially learn the conversion of HAVAL SUV, and the production and marketing of Great Wall cars. He thinks that the cars of the Chinese brands can be part of Dakar race, and the score we got ranked in the top 20 in such a short time, not only shows how skilled Chinese race car drivers are, but also indicates how the manufacturers have approached to the European mainstream brands in the technology.
