Beijing's car restrictions have been causing headaches for the city's second-hand car market. That's because under the curbing measures, used cars can't be sold with their license plates. But used car sales in nearby cities like Tianjin are doing booming trade.

The second hand car market in Tianjin has entered its peak season. With Chinese New Year approaching, consumer confidence is soaring. Sales volumes for all 5 second hand car markets in Tianjin have seen an average increase of 20 percent.

Chen Xuefei, Department Director of Tianjin Konggang Used Car Market said "Our daily trading volume is around 200 cars, from 200 to 250 per day."

Tianjin's bullish second-hand car market has attracted many car dealers who used to sell used cars in Beijing. With Beijing's second hand car market going through tough times, these dealers have shifted their focus, and transferred their business to Tianjin.

Chen Xuefei said "Many Beijing car dealers are consulting with us about open branches in the Tianjin market, some of them have already registered."

Car dealers told CCTV the influx of cars from Beijing to Tianjin will not only increase the number of cars in Tianjin, but also change the structure of car trading. Sales of medium-level and high end cars have increased greatly.
