Buyers of electric vehicles (EV) will receive a maximum of 123,000 yuan ($18,671) in subsidies from the government in Hangzhou, according to the city's new regulation released last year.
The subsidies include 60,000 yuan ($9,108) from the central government itself, 60,000 yuan ($9,108) from the local government and another 3,000 yuan ($455) for changing motor vehicles to electric cars.
In addition, electric car owners will also receive recharging subsidies of 0.09 yuan ($ 0.01) per kilometer following the first three years of purchase.
Hangzhou plans to sell 20,000 units of electric cars by the end of 2012, and to establish four collective charging stations, 38 independent charging stations, 145 distribution centers and 3,500 charging piles so that electric vehicle owners could recharge their cars within every two miles.
Langyue, manufactured by Zotye Motor began selling in Hangzhou last October. Zotye 2008EV, launched in January, will be the first market-oriented electric model in China.
