Gu Lei leaves Chery for BAW

The general manager of Chery's sales department Ma Deyi confirmed Tuesday that the head of the company's R&D department Gu Lei has become the head of Beijing Automobile Works' R&D department.

Gu began working at Chery in 2005, and was president of Chery's engineering and technological research institute. Being an expert on vehicles crash testing, Gu previously worked at Ford from 1994 to 2005.

Ma said Gu was a outstanding employee, and he said he didn't know why Gu left Chery.
