After Geely bought bankrupt Australian-based Drivetrain Systems International (DSI) which manufactures gearboxes in March, things are at a standstill as senior staff left the company due to morale.
DSI focuses on gearbox production. The company was bought by BorgWarner Inc. in 1957 and 30 years later sold to an English tire and rubber company. ION became its third owner in 1987 and announced bankruptcy on March 12 this year. China-based Geely bought the company two weeks later for $58 million.
After being sold between different companies, senior staff from DSI have left, slowing down business development.
