Geely recalling sedans over defective gas pipes

A unit of China's Geely Holding Group is recalling 2,175 1.5 liter JL7180 models, said the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine Friday.

A problem with the gas pipes might lead to oil leakage and difficulties for drivers in steering the wheels, said the Zhejiang Haoqing Company, a unit of Geely.

The sedans were manufactured between Dec. 25, 2008 and February 14, 2009.

The producer promised to help car owners replace the defective parts from next Sunday on.
