Chery Auto saw its vehicle sales in September increase 110 percent year on year to a monthly record high at 51,453 units, leading in the month's sales of Chinese-brand car makers, sina.com said today.

As the first Chinese-brand car maker to break the 50,000-unit monthly sales mark, Chery Auto has secured its leadership in China's auto market of home-grown brands. The Chery A3, A5, Tiggo are hot-selling Chery flagship sedan models.
The fuel-efficient Chery A5 model sold 9,202 units in September, up 148.9 percent month on month, becoming a barometer of Chinese car buyers' new taste.
The newly upgraded premium Chery A3 sold 5,037 units last month and the company may rely on it as a major model to boost sales in the family car segment.
The new concept sedan Chery Tiggo, with 22 upgraded features, sold 5,294 units in September.
