Shanghai Maple will be merged into the Englon brand and become one of the three subsidiaries of Geely, along with Gleagle and Emgrand brands, said the Chinese automaker Wednesday.
Geely will hold a news conference to announce the merger at the 2010 Beijing auto show.
Vice-president of Geely, Liu Jinliang said the Englon brand complements the Geely series. The Gleagle models represent style, passion and dreams, and the Emgrand stands for luxury, power and stability.
The company didn't mention the core values of Englon vehicles and there is no word as to whether Englon vehicles will be presented at the auto show or not.
In 2002 Geely bought Jieshida from Jieshida Group and renamed the brand Shanghai Maple.
