SUV sales in the first four months soared nearly 118 percent year-on-year to 373,527 units in the China market. The new Hyundai ix35, locally produced Volkswagen Tiguan and the Audi Q5 are the three dominant models, according to data recently released by National Passenger Vehicle Market Information Joint Committee (NPVC).

Moreover, the new Hyundai ix35, Volkswagen Tiguan and the Audi Q5 reported their best April sales ever with sales of 4,399 units, 3,500 units and 2,176 units respectively.

The SUV market in China still has great potential to grow and customer group of the high-end SUVs will continue to expand, industry insiders said.
