The popular animated show and film Transformers will come to life at the Shanghai Auto Show with the C2 robot by Dongfeng Citroen, reports Sina.com.
Built in Nanjing, the giant autobot is 4.5 meters tall, 4 meters wide and 3 meters deep, and weighs nearly 2 tons. The robot takes the Dongfeng Citroen C-Quatre as its prototype, combined with traditional Chinese dragon design.

Named Optimus Prime, this autobot is the world's first huge transformer model with sound, light and power systems. It is the production team’s fifth such project. Team leader Sui Lulu says that this robot, totally created by Chinese engineers, is different from the Hollywood version of Transformers. "We want to put more emphasis on Chinese characteristics, so we chose the Chinese design of the dragon," says Sui.

Sui said the Dongfeng Citroen C-Quatre was chosen as the model for Optimus Prime because their models are highly innovative and dynamic, and they have a strong sense of design."The brand puts a lot of thought into its cars, so it can stimulate our inspiration of creation,” adds Sui.
He is very pleased with this autobot and is currently preparing for the upcoming event in Shanghai. He is keen to meet with Citroen C-Quatre and Transformer lovers and share his work with them.
