Geely's vital force is sourced from the research and development capability, and the research and development capability is from talents. There are 19 departments affiliated the institute, including 55 specialty offices and over 300 experts, and among the experts, those with master degree or doctoral degree have occupied one third. They assume totally the research and development on the related technologies in terms of comprehensive management, the entire-car development, assembly development, development support and product engineering, and have independently developed many advanced auto technologies, such as BMBS (puncture to monitor the braking system), D-CVVT engine, diesel engine, automatic gearbox, dual-fuel vehicle and electronic equilibrium balance system (EEBS) super hybrid power technology, which has laid a profound technological base for Geely to launch new products increasingly. Of course, Geely doesn't act blindly by divorcing itself from reality. During the over 10 year in the auto field, Geely has cooperated with lots of famous specialty companies at home and abroad successively on developing car type and components. Geely has also established Geely Automobile Industry School, Zhejiang Geely Technician Academy, Beijing Geely University, Sanya College of Hainan University and Zhejiang Automobile Engineering Institute, which has stored and cultivated lots of talents for the development. Just such soft strength reinforcement boosts the hard strength.
Impacted by the international financial crisis, the global auto industry counters cold snap last year, but Geely showed another view: the auto production and sales volume increased steadily, the product quality was enhanced rapidly and the independent technologies had an important breakthrough.
