FAW 2010 sales volume reaches 2.55 mln

First Automobile Works (FAW) set a record in sales volume in 2010, selling 2.55 million vehicles, up 31.6 percent from 2009, among which self-developed products account for 1.03 million, up 37.7 percent.
FAW sold 270,000 units of heavy trucks, up 49.8 percent from 2009 and its market share raised 0.8 percentage points.
FAW Jiefang Automotive Company, Ltd, a subsidiary under FAW sold 259,000 models, up 55.3 percent from last year.
Jiefang J6, which was awarded the first prize: 2010 National Scientific and Technological Progress, sold 60,717 units last year, becoming the leading product in China's heavy truck market.
The company's self-developed brand, Besturn also led in the passenger car market, selling 134,500 units, increasing 52 percent from last year.
FAW Jilin Automobile Co., Ltd, FAW's mini car manufacturing base, sold 150,000 units of mini and micro cars, up 84 percent.
Senya M80, one of FAW's models, tops the list of 2010 auto sales volume and Xiali, another FAW's self-developed vehicle, was awarded the first prize for best selling small car in 2010.
FAW's joint ventures (JV) also saw great increase in sales volume. FAW Volvo, FAW Toyota, FAW Mazda sold 869,900 units, 511,600 units and 138,500 units respectively, up 30 percent , 21 percent and 28 percent last year.
