The new R&D center focuses on car chassis technology, the core technology of automobile development, which will be used in mid and high-end cars and SUVs independently developed by Changan. Being the most developed city in American automobile industry, Detroit has the three auto giants, Ford, GM, and Chrysler, to locate their headquarters here, and attracts many famous automakers to build branches and R&D centers in the city. Along with the five local R&D centers in Chongqing, Shanghai, Beijing, Harbin, and Jiangxi Province, the night R&D centers form Changan's global R&D system, pushing forward the growth of the domestic automaker.
