Mercedes-Benz's first hybrid luxury sedan , the S400 Hybrid will come to China later this year.

The car consists of a 6-cylinder 3.5-liter gasoline engine and an electromotor. The integrated fuel consumption is 7.9 liters per 100 kilometers, producing 190 grams per kilometer of carbon dioxide emissions. It only takes 7.2 seconds to accelerate from zero to 100 kilometers per hour, faster than the gasoline version, the S350, by 0.1 seconds.

Chairman of the board Ulrich Walker said the sales volume of domestic and imported cars sold by Mercedes-Benz Motor Group in China was 28,200, up 40 percent year-on-year. It is expected to continue to maintain strong growth momentum in the second half of 2009.
