2011 Tesla S
Tesla Motors has already received more than 1,000 orders for the Model S prototype - an all-electric sedan making its auto show debut in Detroit and coming in 2011. It will be offered with 160-mile, 230-mile and 300-mile battery packs. In its most powerful configuration, the Model S will weigh about 4,000 pounds and have a top speed of more than 130 miles an hour. The base price of $49,900 includes a $7,500 federal tax credit.
2011 Kia Sorento
The redesigned 2011 Kia Sorento is built off a new car-based platform that will be shared with the next generation Hyundai Santa Fe. It is 1 inch wider and 3.2 inches longer and for the first time, features a third-row seat. And there are new engine choices - a 2.4-liter, 172-hp 4-cylinder and a 3.5-liter, 273-hp V-6 with a new 6-speed automatic. Inside, the options include Kia's first Panoramic sunroof.
