Peugeot launches first sedan in China

Peugeot launched its first mid-size sedan 408 in China on January 25 with a series of seven models. This is the first time for the French automaker to debut its new model in an overseas market.

The Peugeot 408 is a long-wheelbase sedan based on the 308 giving more room for passengers in the back. It features a large sunroof and a self-contained trunk to keep the interior light and roomy.

The French automaker and its Chinese partner Dongfeng Peugeot-Citroën expect annual sales of the 408 to reach 100,000 units this year, with a starting price ranging between 121,900 yuan ($17,854) to 169,900 yuan ($24,884.29).

The 4.68-meter-long sedan will be produced in Wuhan, Hubei Province, in Central China.
