Sales of passenger vehicles set a new record in 2010, reaching 13.76 million units. The top 10 best-selling cars in China were: BYD F3, Lavida, Elantra Yuedong, Jetta, Buick Excelle, Santana, Xiali, Cruze, Chery Cowin and Bora, the total sales volume of which was 2.14 million units, accounting for 23 percent of the total.
No.1 BYD F3
The BYD F3 features a 4 cylinder, 1.5 L, Mitsubishi Orion engine with distributor-less Bosch ignition and fuel injection. With a wheelbase of 2600 mm, the engine output is 75kW. Carrying a price tag between 51, 800 yuan ($7,821) and 80,800 yuan ($ 12,200), the model sold 263,900 units in 2010.
