2010 Volkswagen Tiguan Vehicle Overview
In keeping with Volkswagen's reputation for upscale cabins, the interior of the Tiguan boasts high-quality materials and tight-as-a-drum build quality. Real aluminum -- not silver-colored plastic -- enhances the premium feel. Most controls are large and well placed, and the available navigation system boasts a large screen and a simple interface.
Firm, well-shaped seats offer proper support, whether logging miles on the interstate or slicing through a twisty two-laner. The reclining rear seat offers a 60/40-split design as well as a pass-through in the middle, which allows the Tiguan to carry long items and four passengers at the same time. The rear seat also slides fore and aft to improve either rear legroom or cargo space.

Volkswagen gave attention right to the last detail in the new Tiguan, and gave it a decidedly ergonomic and very spacious interior along the way. At all five seating positions on board the Tiguan occupants are equally comfortable. The rear bench can be adjusted in the longitudinal direction and has an asymmetrically split folding sections. In this case, objects up to 2.5 meters in length of any type disappear inside the Tiguan; it is transformed into an all-wheel drive van.
The instruments with their high-end visual and tactile quality are clearly arranged. All controls are located where one would intuitively expect to see them. Take the example of the center console: Integrated at the top, within the optimal viewing field of driver and front passenger, is the new generation of radio and navigation system. Main functions are controlled by keys and knobs, while sub-functions are controlled via a touchscreen. Just to the right and left of the audio system are two air vents each. The entire unit is encased by a high quality frame that has a stainless steel appearance.
Located at the next level down is the standard semi-automatic climate control system known as "Climatic". Ergonomically designed switches for window lifts and mirror adjustment are also easy to reach in the upper area of the driver's door.

Inside, key trim pieces are made of real aluminum, while others feature a chrome finish. The base S model comes with a CD player, speed-sensitive power steering and an eight-speaker audio system. The SE includes higher quality cloth seat skins, heated front seats, a leather steering wheel with audio controls, an audio system with touch-screen interface and auxiliary inputs and a six-CD changer. The Tiguan SEL gets leather seats, upgraded armrests and door trim and a Dynaudio 300-watt, eight-channel stereo. A sunroof, power sunroof shade, and Bluetooth connectivity are also available.

2009 Volkswagen Tiguan Review
Tiguan's interior is attractive as well with fine materials, impeccable fit and finish and clean, efficient layout. Gauges, controls, and everything we interact with are thoughtfully placed with the exception of the clock in front of the driver. I think the clock should be in the center of the dash where the passenger can see it as well.Tiguan
An optional panoramic sunroof floods the rear area with filtered light. The rear seat has an amazing six inches of travel to accommodate larger passengers. Even then it would be a bit crowded with three big guys back there. Cargo capacity is 23.8 cubic-feet behind the second seat and 56.1 cubic-feet with the second seat folded, and the front passenger's seat folds flat as well. You could tow a small boat and trailer if you like with the 2,200-pound capacity.
There's no doubt the vehicle possesses that special VW vibe that's says European and sporty. And the Tiguan offers 8-way partial power, heated seating for both the driver and passenger with lumbar support as standard features. But the CLIMATIC or single-zone air conditioning system offers limited choices for adjusting air control – the vents don't angle well and blast you out. The Tiguan stands out from the competition due to its huge panoramic sunroof, which dispels a sense of feeling crowded inside this smaller car (but waffles at high speeds resulting in a lot of inside noise). The seating was stiff without the lumbar support; although secure, it wasn't outstanding.
