2010 BMW 5 Series Sedan On Sale In Australia From June
The interior of the new 5 Series features a centre stack angled toward the driver - similar to the interior of the new 7 Series and 5 Series GT. Standard specification includes Dakota leather upholstery, a sports leather steering wheel, and four-way electric adjustment for the driver and front passenger seats. The range topping BMW 550i also receives comfort seats with ventilation and heating.

The interior's one arc after another, with a deep black hole in the dash for the LCD navigation screen and a general favoritism for exotic surfaces instead of functional spaces. It's challenging as a piece of art-it's far more challenging as a place to do driving work. Auto media notes the 5-Series' "lack of fanciness extends into the interior, with down-to-business seats and familiar BMW gauges." Motor Trend cuts down the 5-Series' cabin, calling it "a dark and cold cockpit." While Kelley Blue Book states "the overall air of firm luxury remains," Edmunds points out that "competitors offer more stylish and less austere environments." ConsumerGuide disagrees and says it features "elegant interior décor." Automobile says "the cabin is handsome but not as elegantly turned out as that of the new E-class."

2010 BMW 5-Series Features And Prices
The cabin of the 2010 5-Series is just what you'd expect: attractive, refined and solidly constructed with high quality materials. In addition, the new 5-Series possesses one of the roomiest and comfortable interiors in its class, especially those outfitted with the optional "Comfort" front seats with their myriad of adjustments.

2010 BMW 5-Series: First Drive
The 530d was the first of the two cars BMW had kept ready for us to drive and what marked it out was the fact that the driver centric layout was much more moderner and even better oriented in keeping in sync with the brand character but what was notable was the amount of cabin space, far more than in any 5-series to date and surely a signal that BMW was beginning to inch closer to expansive Mercedes E-class confines. The controls fall naturally to hand and with quite a bit of top class trim as OE, the new 5 wouldn't be found lacking in creature comforts to cosset its occupants.
