Space

One downside is that the reach and rake adjustable steering wheel doesn't quite tilt up high enough for taller drivers, so the top of the dials can be cut from view. Still, there's plenty of space for the driver, front and rear passengers, and the boot is a decent size that can cope with a family's holiday luggage.

In terms of packaging, the saloon boot offers 450-litres of space, which isn't as handy as a conventional hatchback, though the split-fold rear seats are standard and allow you to carry longer items.

Class-leading features include the flush fit of panels, with exceptionally tight gap tolerances, and generous rear passenger leg, head and shoulder room, despite Chevrolet Cruze's signature sloping roofline.
