Handling
1. Auto.sina.com.cn
Turn into a bend and you'll be surprised at how quick and direct the steering feels. It does feel safe, secure and predictable, but ultimately it has more body roll and less front-end grip than its rivals. The 1.6-litre needs working hard and goes about its work in a gruff, unenthusiastic manner.

When driving under the normal mode, the car's 1.6L engine can not provide much passion, but it won't let you down either. On accelerating, comfort is not the car's specialty, however overall driving is comfortable. In addition, its 6 speed automated manual transmission mates the engine well.

For a start, its engine discourages active driving as does also the steering. It's reasonably accurate, but it's low-geared and features an artificially strong self-centering action. This might help keep dozy drivers on track on the highway, but it entirely masks steering feel or driver involvement through what would be interesting curves. When you push the Cruze a bit, you will find a car that rolls little and handles tidily, before eventually surrendering to understeering.
