Suzuki Kizashi to enter US market

The 2010 Suzuki Kizashi will enter the American market by the end of this year or early in 2010, Suzuki Motor Corp said. The company will announce the Kizashi's price later this year.

The Kizashi will have a 2.4-liter engine and either a six-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Kizashi means "something great is coming" in Japanese. Suzuki hopes the sedan could help halt a sales decline in the US.

Suzuki's sales plunged 60 percent in the first half of this year to 22,408. In 2008 it sold 84,861 units.
