S. Korea vehicle sales up in US

September sales of South Korean cars in the US rose, while Japanese carmakers' sales declined in the same month.

The largest automaker in South Korea, Hyundai Motor, reported its September sales increased 27 percent year-on-year in the US to 31,511 units; Kia Motors' sales rose 24 percent to 21,623 units.

Japanese carmakers Toyota and Honda's sales last month dropped 13 percent and 20 percent respectively. Toyota sold 126,015 vehicles and Honda sold 77,229 units.
