Ford Fusion sets new sales record

Ford Motor Co. said November 12 that the sales of its midsized sedan Fusion reached 151,000 units in 2009, making it the best-selling car in the US.

Fusion sales increased 15 percent year-on-year in the first 10 months, boosted by the new Fusion Hybrid which accounts for almost 20 percent of all Fusion retail sales.

The Fusion was launched in 2005 as a 2006 model.
