Saab is still seeking a suitor to buy the company outright, a spokesman for the automaker said December 13 after The Wall Street Journal reported Beijing Automotive Industry Holding (BAIC) had reached a tentative deal with General Motors to acquire part of the Swedish automaker's assets.
Eric Geers, Saab's spokesman said he was confident the company could find a buyer, but refused to comment about the sales process.
Victor Muller, CEO of Spyker Cars NV located in the Netherlands, said Sunday his company is still in talks about buying the Swedish car brand.
Bloomberg reported that an agreement to sell some technologies for the 9-3 and 9-5 to BAIC has been reached between the Chinese automaker and GM.
Caijing.com.cn reported Monday that the Bank of China has approved the Chinese automaker's 20 billion yuan (about $2.93 billion), citing people familiar with the issue.
