US auto safety regulators to test Lexus GX 460

The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said April 15 that it will run safety tests on the new Lexus GX 460.
If the vehicle doesn't meet the safety standards, the US auto safety regulator said it will take action.
NHTSA chief David Strickland said his compliance staff is going to check some of the GX 460 models, including the test vehicle which was used for Consumer Reports.
Toyota halted sales of the Lexus GX 460 in the US on April 13 after Consumer Reports said the electronic stability control system kicked in late on a sharp curve and gave the vehicle a "non-acceptable" rating.
