A stone tablet dating back to the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) has been found in north China's Hebei Province, local authorities said Friday.

The tablet is estimated to have a history of 153 years. Found in Xiaozhang Village in the city of Xinji, the tablet measures 190 cm in height, 70 cm in width and 22 cm in thickness.

The tablet is believed to belong to a tomb owner whose life story is written on the tablet. It also describes members of a local family.

A tablet of its kind is rarely seen in the village. It provides materials for ongoing genealogy compiling work in the village, and is important for studying the customs and genealogical culture of the Qing Dynasty, said an expert with the city's cultural relics protection office.
